This is a busy time

With all that is going on, I have been negligent
about posting...I don't how many of our kids read this
but I hope that it is neat to see yourself on the computer
doing things with your youth group. God has blessed
me here with some wonderful young people!

Our First Area Wide Youth Rally...

We had over 75 people that came for first ever Area Wide Youth Rally. We had a great time singing and playing games. There was a great skit and lesson. Kansas, Colcord, Jay, Eastgate, Gentry and Grove showed up. Not too bad for the first time!

We just had our first activity with the Eastgate church. We had a very good time and look forward to more activities. We appreciate them coming over!

Are we excited yet?

Sunday begins the new class schedule for the Kansas church.
It also begins a more organized approach to the education
and teaching being taught. I am so grateful for all those
who have taught here for so long! They have done a great
job. I am ready for Sunday and the young men and I begin
to learn the correct and proper way of leadership in the church.
GOD IS SO GOOD!

We had a great day yesterday at Vacation Bible School...

30 kids came to learn about David and Noah, the Grouchy

Rooster and Captain VBS, and watch puppet shows and

skits...The congregation did a great job!

BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD

With school starting and all the pressures beginning again
it is good to remember this: God always will win the battle!
Rely on His strength and things will be overcome...by ourselves
we are helpless and hopeless. With God, we are mighty and strong.
I want to encourage all of you to put your faith in the Holy God
to equip you in the battles of this life...Nothing else will do...

This was the kids first attempt to sing this song. Im not sure who liked it the most, the girls or the boys. Actually the girls sang the boys part better. They did a good job though!

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT

This summer has FLOWN by!
Our kids start school in the next few weeks...and things will start slowing down.
I ran everyone ragged last week with 4 activities in 4 nights...SORRY!
I was tired as well - - - I know everyone else was as well.
It will be a good fall...We have a lot of exciting things coming up:
- Fellowships with Eastgate COC, Stilwell, Colcord
- Youth Nights every fourth Saturday
- LTC Prep begins in Oct. /Nov.
- Fall Retreat in November @ BCCC
- Caroling in December

It is going to be a good fall...
Best wishes to our football, softball, and soccer players and also the cheerleaders.

We had such a great time last night bowling with the Grove youth group. The scores were low BUT, the fun level was high!

THROW IN THE TOWEL

Do you ever want to just quit?
Would it not be easier to just throw in the towel than to keep fighting for what's right?
Sometimes I get that way...
Why push, why blaze new trails, why keep the fire lit?
Because that is what we are supposed to do...
If life was all about what felt good or what was comfortable, we would have a chaotic society.
If it was encouraged to quit when the going got tough, where would stability be?
How would things get done?

God needs one person to get excited for Him
Who will that someone be?

NEW CLASSES

I am thrilled!
I just got my new book I will be teaching from this fall.
Amy and I are going to split up the boys and girls in the SWAT group...
She is doing a study on prayer with the girls and the boys and I
are going over leadership - public prayer, devotionals, song leading, etc.

I cannot wait!

FUNERALS

I have had the privilege of being involved in three funerals in the past month...
That may sound morbid but these were funerals of the good kind
Three young people have put Christ on in baptism - 2 at church, 1 at camp...
The funeral, of course, is the death of the old person and the new life that is born.
This can only be found in one person - Jesus Christ!
Romans 6:3-4 - - -We accept the blood through His death and we receive the blood by baptism into His death...What a wonderful God that we have.

MINI CAMP

What an enjoyable time this was!!!! We really had fun learning about God (Heb. 10:19-25) and swimming and singing!
What a blessing - glad to be home!

SCHOOL IS OFFICIALLY OUT

Kansas Public Schools got out Wednesday...that means summer is finally upon us. We have a busy and exciting one planned - youth camps, Bible studies, service projects, DEVOS, Fellowships, and more...What a great time to be a part of the Kansas Youth Group.

WORK DAY AT VANDEVERS

We will be working from 10:00 - 1:30 at the Vandevers Thursday to raise money for camp...
Bring a sack lunch and a drink.

I MISS SUMMER

I miss being a kid in the summertime. No worries, no problems, and most importantly...NO SCHOOL! That was the best part - no more teachers, no more books (as the old song goes)...Wouldn't it be great if adults got summers off (I know preachers, teachers, and NBA players do but that's not everyone)? Adults would it not be awesome to have 3 months off in the summer with pay - no worries, no problems and no work?

DON'T FORSAKE THE FELLOWSHIPS

I want every parent and child to realize the importance of being a part of all these fellowships. Our kids will grow, prosper, and develop with each other and for God. I was thinking ahead for a few minutes this week...In just 3 years, with just the kids we have now, we will have 10 high school kids, 8 junior highers, and 7 in elementary...5 years from now, we will have 12 high school kids, 9 junior highers and 5 or 6 in elementary! Our future is right here - let's make sure these kids are in here, learning and growing in God.
